My Favorite Places to get Sushi in Chicago

I have become somewhat of a sushi connoisseur.  I eat far too much of it, but could keep eating it forever.  My favorite two rolls are spicy tuna maki and shrimp tempura.  These are my favorite places to frequent:

  • Tamarind 614 S. Wabash Ave.
My favorite place by far.  It helps that it is only about two blocks away from my house.  But I eat here entirely too often.  They have more than just sushi, which is nice when I’m going with particular friends who won’t try the stuff.  Their crab rangoon is unreal and their orange chicken is delicious.  Also, they put cucumbers and lemons in their water which is so tasty.
  • Tatsu 1062 W. Taylor St.
I’ve been here a few times with my ex-boyfriend.  We loved to go here and share the UIC roll.  I still think about that roll, and how absolutely delicious it is.  Go during the summer, and sit outside.
  • Osaka Express 1311 W. Taylor St., 400 S. Michigan Ave.
This is the perfect place to swing by if you are in a hurry.  They get busy during lunch hours, but you can be in and out within 15 minutes easily.  They have delicious bubble teas.  My favorite is Mango, with chopped mango on the top.
  • Nohana 3136 N. Broadway St.
On the northside, right off Belmont, Nohana is a cute little hole in the wall.  I’ve only been a few times but their spicy tuna crunch roll is delicious.  Their shrimp tempura is also delicious and definitely not dry like I find they can be sometimes.
